Marikina to hold a fund-raising concert

 The city government of Marikina will hold a fund-raising concert titled, “A Black and White Affair” on June 12, 7:45 p.m., at Sentrong Pangkultura ng Marikina (Kapitan Moy Building).
The concert, which is organized in cooperation with the Marikina Residence Club Philippines, will feature Rudolf Golez and Miriam San Miguel. Golez, a classical concert pianist, won the bronze in the general category of the First ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2004. San Miguel, Marikina’s home-grown soprano, has performed in several concerts. Golez and San Miguel’s repertoire will include music from the Spanish and American era.
MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, tenor, will give a special performance.
Cocktails at 6:30 pm. will precede the concert, whose proceeds will go to Barangay Concepcion Uno, St. Gabriel Church, and Sisters of St. Joseph.
