Marikina City's Facility of Wirelessly Integrated Network Systems Launching

The City Government of Marikina, through the Management Information System and Call Center (MISCC), will launch the Marikina City Facility of Wirelessly Integrated Network Systems this August 21, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the City Hall Quadrangle.The project, dubbed "Marikina City's Facility of Wireless Integrated Network Systems," is an infrastructure consisting of 66 sites using mesh technology.
It is expected to facilitate transactions and enable the sharing of files among local government offices and the city's public schools and 16 barangays. The project is believed to make Marikina the first fully interconnected local government unit in the Philippines. At the launching, Marikina Mayor Marides Fernando, Department of Education-Marikina City Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Officer-in-charge Dr. Flordeliza Mayari, and representatives from 24 schools and 16 barangays will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that signifies the tie-up among the local government, barangays, health centers and school administrations.
MISCC will also set up exhibit booths where participants enjoy the following services: e-com mobile application, a short message service (SMS) software designed to give the residents easy access to information on local government services via mobile phones; Internet Protocol surveillance program through which live road traffic situation in Marikina City can be viewed; video conferencing; freebies such as overseas calls to the United States; and raffle draws in which MMS mobile phones are at stake.The Marikina City Wireless Infrastructure project is supported by Motorola and Triton Communication, Inc.
